On the day of his inauguration, President Biden was able to comment on his latest campaign announcement.

Instead of covering the usual opening ball – you know, a lovely song from BionicIt While the President and First Lady were slowly dancing – we had a sober, celebrity-filled concert called Celebrate America that was broadcast on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC in prime time.

Hoping that Rachel Maddow would sing “You’re a Big Old Science” while spinning the flaming batons, she was disappointed with the less exciting show, but with the same transparency than 90 Minutes. The evening was little more than an unrealized PR opportunity for the new administration.

A press release said that the program “will showcase the resilience, heroism and unified commitment of the American people to come together as a nation to recover and rebuild.”

Keep calm, guys. Show this John Bon Jovi on a jetty in Florida.

Well, sometimes he was doing what his title claimed. The songs were presented by frontline workers, teachers, and child volunteers. No one denies their heroism or worthiness. But these clips, of course, were narrated by Biden, and they sounded kind of like 30secs you’re seeing on an Ohio TV on November 6.

Just hours after giving the most important speech of his life, Biden had another say. And this time, instead of being introduced by Amy Klobuchar, he was promoted to Tom Hanks.

“[We] “I wanted to make sure that our inauguration wasn’t about us, it was about you,” said the President, as he stood at the humble and dedicated Lincoln Memorial.

“Because of you, democracy has triumphed,” Breeze added. So, if the other man had received more votes, would democracy have failed? Did not matter. Fetch the songs.

In recent days, politicians and experts have told us that the darkest days of the pandemic are still raging. You won’t know it from the great music selection: John Bon Jovi covered Here Comes The Sun, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons sang Better Days, John Legend sang Nina Simone’s classic “I’m Feeling Good” and the Foo Fighters shouted “Times Like This “(” I am awakening a new day! ”

Later, Demi Lovato dashed into a “beautiful day” as Biden and first lady Jill Biden wandered awkwardly around the White House and Katy Perry belts “fireworks” as the capital’s skyline filled with light at the end, see? Starting today, everything is going very well!

Tomorrow, networks should stop giving their men free time to talk empty empty feelings and demand real action holding the powerful accountable, right? Or was it only during the past four years?
